Haven’t you grown!

“Haven’t you grown chucheleh!”, usually accompanied by an uncomfortable squeeze of a cheek (mine).  This was the normal greeting we had as children when meeting one of our collection of great aunts.  We cousins called it The Aunts’ Revenge.  It never ceased to be puzzling, because what else would a child do but grow?

Anyhow, that’s what I want to do each time I get out and greet my ripple blanket.  “My, how you’ve grown!  and so fast too!”.

We’ve travelled around together, but now we’re snug at home.  Too much to carry around now.  Other projects have taken her place as take-away craft (knitting socks, take a bow!).

I wonder, is it all the cake that helps it grow?  Can’t be doing any harm, at least….

Well you couldn’t not want to squeeze this little beauty could you?  And snuggle up nice and cozy.

Now I've passed 60 I'm still doing all sorts of things I haven't done before, as well as carrying on with the things I already love. I live a happy life with my long term love Malcolm. In my blog I explore local and low tech ideas, food, growing, making, reading, thinking, walking, and lots of other words ending in 'ing'.

I love to read your comments. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, and I don't mind if you don't. However, I ask you to respect the 'circle time' rules made by my son's primary school teacher: make a comment, ask a question or say something nice. Thank you!
