It’s Saturday and (mostly) the sun is shining. I’m struggling today after another particularly poor night’s sleep, so haven’t done much and not pushing myself to do much. Hopefully normal service will be resumed tomorrow. PGTG.
I did manage to enjoy a lovely family zoom first thing this morning, when little granddaughter was particularly playful and funny. I can see that not being able to be with her to celebrate her second birthday later this month will feel like a huge gap (especially as I missed her first birthday because I was unwell and didn’t want to pass anything on to others).
I was interested to hear how oldest son and d-o-l have adapted their food shopping habits in these times. Normally they explore London a lot and as they walk they pop into different ethnic food shops to try new foods. That’s not an option now, so instead each week they’ve placed an online order with a different food shop. So far they’ve eaten German food, Persian food, and this week Russian food. They are both still working, and still finding ways to enjoy the diversity London has to offer.
Today I assembled supper (lasagne made with chard from the allotment, sausage and tomato sauce I cooked last week and froze, white sauce, and some more of that aged dried lasagne (best before 2017). It was delicious.
The bread I baked yesterday evening is also delicious. I picked the first few wild strawberries from the garden. I pottered a little around the house, the garden and the allotment doing a few gentle jobs (nothing too taxing or requiring any brain power), and then retreated to R4 podcasts and knitting.
Tomorrow’s another day. We have a different plan for our Sunday morning coffee ‘trip’, taking advantage of the good weather.
I hope you’re well, and that you come back tomorrow xx
The bread looks so tasty!!
