I came across blogs by chance some years ago, through reading a collection of posts written by Jane Brocket and published as The Gentle Art of Domesticity.  I loved it, and there began a journey through many blogs (some good, some bad and some indifferent) to a point where I began to think I too could write a blog.

This is where I write mainly for myself about the many things that interest me – how we live, the choices we have and make, food, creativity, gardening and my allotment, city life, family, friends.  Mainly from a perspective of sustainability.  And about the magic dust that helps make things sparkle.  See my first ever post for an explanation of ‘The Magic Jug’.

My thanks to the many wonderful bloggers who have inspired and entertained me, and who continue to do so – particularly Jane Brocket (Yarnstorm – no longer blogging but her blogs are still available online), Lucy at Attic24, Nancy the List Writer (Philosophy of Lists)(sadly missed, not active at the moment), Amanda Soule (Soulemama),  Rhonda Hetzel (Down to Earth), and Alice (aka Mrs M) at The Sight of Morning. 

I love receiving comments on my posts, and try hard to comment on other’s whenever I can (though I don’t manage it as often as I’d like).  I always try to reply to readers’ comments whenever possible.

I am constantly thrilled and inspired by the astonishing things ordinary people do and create.  It helps provide a counter-balance to the many many awful things, and perhaps give us the energy needed to know that we can create and influence change for the better.

Maintaining hope and optimism are so crucial in our quest to leave this earth a better, kinder place, than we found it.

Do please feel free to comment.  I don’t expect everyone to agree with me, and I don’t mind if you don’t.  However, I ask you to respect the ‘circle time’ rules laid down some years ago by my son’s reception and primary teacher: ask a question or say something nice.
